Malcolm MacCormack – an Inspiration Who Will Be Sorely Missed
Wincanton is mourning the passing of Malcolm MacCormack, who died on 26th January after a long battle with cancer. National and local politicians are among those who have paid tribute to him.

Wincanton Marathon Man, Berry Bernsen, is holding a Quiz Night at the Nog Inn to help him reach his £1,500 fundraising target. Book a table with friends to make a night of it. Entry includes a bowl of chilli!

Last Few Days to Recycle Your Christmas Tree
Until 15th January, South Somerset District Council is providing local drop zones where you can deposit your redundant (real) Christmas trees. Once shredded, bags of wood chippings can be taken (free of charge) by local residents to use in their gardens.

Wincanton Resident’s Double Celebration
Long standing Wincanton resident John Keynes enjoyed a double celebration at the end of November. John celebrate his 90th Birthday and also received the Légion d’Honneur from the French government for his gallant part played in the liberation of France.

Wincanton Remembrance Parade & Service 2015
Once again, Wincanton saw a good turnout of both spectators and those participating in the Remembrance Day parade down through the High Street. It was particularly encouraging to see many younger members of the community involved in the event.
The Best Christmas Tree Ever..?
Decorated with two thousand coloured lights, this year’s Christmas tree in Market Place was officially lit on Saturday 14th November and has been claimed by many to be the loveliest tree they can remember.
