Museum Thanks Canon Watson for Years of Support
Wincanton Museum and History Society held their annual Garden Party in the Balsam Centre gardens on Saturday 3rd August where Canon Alan Watson was thanked for his years as a Trustee.

Having had a Royal beginning when opened on 27th June 1973 by Her Royal Highness The Princess Margaret, Wincanton Library is most definitely one of the town's treasures, adding much value to our residents over the last 40 years.

Wincanton Library invited the accomplished novelist Lyndon Stacey, to give a reading of her work and a public talk on Thursday 27th June.
Young People Attend Flying Fortress Crash Memorial
On 25th June 1944 an American B17 Flying Fortress crashed at Snag Farm, Stoke Trister killing all nine crew members. This year students from King Arthur’s Community School joined members of the Royal British Legion for the annual commemoration.

The Balsam Centre is getting a new club - a games club. If you’re interested in playing Scrabble and Upwords, Chess, Bridge, Mahjong and card games, come along and join in!
Fun for all the Family on Armed Forces Day
There is going to be fun for all the family in Wincanton on Armed Forces Day, Saturday 29th June, when Wincanton Royal British Legion are hosting an event at the Millers Inn, Wincanton, to commemorate the day.

The Balsam Bustle - A Great Time Had By All
Our first Balsam Bustle was a great success! The many activities and our special guests in the form of some popular Star Wars characters drew huge crowds! We're looking forward to doing it all again next year!
New Book to Commemorate Wincanton's First World War Soldiers
2014 is the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War. Wincanton's men rallied to the call and this has inspired a book about every local man shown on the Roll of Honour. Proceeds to the Wincanton Poppy Appeal 2014.

The Loose Ends Cafe at the Balsam Centre
